Lollypop's book

Hey everyone 

So it's been a long time since I was on here and A LOT has changed I had a brilliant job but i am not getting made redundant on 13th September. 

As always I am finding a silver lining in being made redundant because I am currently 5 months pregnant so when I finish work on 13th September I will have plenty of time to read until I have the baby (who by the way is a boy) I think a lot of my time will be taken when I have him but I am hoping that I will be able to find time to read and relax. 

I am going to try and post as much as I can but I am not going to put pressure on myself because I know I won't get many books read but when i do finish a book I will upload a review of the book and my opinion.

I loved this book it was a brilliant story that I really enjoyed.

I read this is 2 sitting's which is rather quick for me because sometimes it take a week to finish a book if I do not enjoy it.

I was worried that i would not like this book because I love the original Sherlock Holmes stories, but it was a nice surprise that I enjoyed it as much as I did. Now I have not read Dracula but now I really want to because it has peaked my interest so I think its going to be on my list of classics that I need to get me hands on. It was good to see Sherlock and Watson to be written by a more modern writer and it was nice to see the clash that Sherlock and Watson had on their beliefs for the answer to mystery. 

I have learnt also that there is more to this collection and I do also plan on buying more of  them because the author was amazing and I loved his writing it had me hooked the entire book. 

I would recommend this to anyone that does like Sherlock Holmes because it is an amazing twist to the original set of stories. 

Sorry this is a short review I need to get back into the swing of things. 

Hi Everyone 

Its been over a year since I last posted on here and so much has changed and I have been in and out of work but its all going back to normal as of Monday.

My reading habits have improved so much this past week I have reas Carrie (my first Stephen King), Lullaby,This is going to hurt which is alot for me to read straight after one another so I am happy with that because I missed reading so much and when I was thinking about the books I read I had this sudden urge to want to blog again so here I am back with my weekly (hopefully) reviews of things that have been going on and my progress on a book that I am reading.

My current read is Sherlock Holmes Vs Dracula, I am only a few chapters in so I cant really say what I think of it at the min its held my interest so far so its all good.

This book was AMAZING!!! 

From the beginning I was hooked on this book and was controversial and it was amazing to read about something that people haven't really approched Angie Thomas done this amazingly.

For a white reader it helped me realise that life for Black Americans is really hard and it was heartbreaking to read that life is still like that for them and has made me want to read more about black history and books that include this culture. 

The hype behind this book was totally worth it I loved every page of this book and recommend this to anyone that want to read about the culture of black people.

I don't think I will be able to write any review that will be able to give this book any justice.

Starr Carter was an amazing character and she was so strong and she showed that no matter what happened her voice mattered and she also showed what it is like to be in the black culture and how they are treated differently so I will say that the book does have some trigger warning because of the racial aspect of the book that is rather often.

JUST GO PICK UP THE BOOK NOW !!!!!!

Hi everyone

Thought I would post an update because a lot has happened since Monday. 

I am now unemployed due to some absences that I have had the past year so now I am currently sat with no job and no money :(.

The only silver lining that I am taking from this is that I have more time to read and time to get a job that I am passionate about.

AJ Mendez Brooks

Wow this Autobiography was amazing I could not put it down and binge read the entire thing is two days which for me in this moment of time is amazing for me. She wrote it in so much detail and truth that there was no question unanswered for me I recommend this to anyone that is a fan of AJ Lee inside or outside of the ring.

April is an amazing and an inspiration to read and reading her story and her journey of how she got into the ring which wasn't an easy road at all for anyone to endure this and still be strong and positive like she was is amazing and also her story while she was in the ring like a lot of wrestling autobiography that I have read she did not have it easy in her life before she got to an age to think about going into the ring.

April was such an inspiration because she openly spoke about Bipolar and the effects it can have on a family and the effect it can have on someone if it is mis treated she has inspired me to want to work toward a profession in mental health because I want to be able to help people that doctors can't because they can't see the problem and it isn't physical.

she was also very open with her opinions on her job and the people that she worked with and that her plan was to change how women where seen in the wrestling industry and I would like to think that she done an amazing job at accomplishing that because she wasn't the usual skinny blonde that liked to wear tight dresses she was different in a brilliant way that changed the way women where looked at in a  male dominated industry.

Hi everyone 

I can't believe that its the 1st May already, I hope you are all well and have had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend.

Mine hasn't been easy I have still been bad with my breathing but also my back and I am now coughing like my life is depending on it but hopefully I will improve I am back at work on Thursday so I am determined to be better for then. All I have really done is play on Mass Effect on my PS4 and watch TV which I suppose could be worse.

I have started reading Crazy is my Superpower by A.J Mendez Brooks and its been really good so far can't wait to dive more and more into her life she is an amazing role model and worth the time to read. Full review will follow once I have completed the book.

What is everyone reading and watching at the minute I think my night is going to be taken by my PS4 and my lovely game Mass Effect. 

So I have had this book for a while and i never read it simply because of all the hype that was behind the book series and I didn't want to read it and not enjoy it because I felt I had to like it because everyone else did.

I am so glad i did decide to read this book because it honestly deserves all the hype that it is getting. The chapters where so good that you always wanted to read more even the more detailed violent chapters where amazing. 

Now I don't normally like the main characters in books or movies or anything for that matter but oh my goodness Feyre was a total bad ass and i loved her she was so strong and inspiring because she had to learn really quick how to be an adult by looking after and providing for her family, also while learning about her you learn that she can't read and it was nice to see her overcome the hurdles that it brought up.

Sarah J Maas built the characters perfectly the romance was strong and i would even say new adult which was amazing I love beaty and the beast and I think this was an amazing adaptation of the story with fantasy.

I recommend this to anyone that has been on edge to read it, read the book you won't be disappointed if you love fantasy and beauty and the beast.

My laryngitis has now also lead to me having tonsillitis which I am now in so much pain with that i can't breathe properly or talk very long without having a coughing fit so it means that I am off work still hopefully it will get better and I can go back to work sooner rather than later.

Right now though in the part of the UK I live in its been raining all day and its now carried on to the night so I am going to sit tucked up in bed and read as much as i can of A Court of Thorns and Roses which I doubt will be much because my concentration is very limited I just want to sleep this infection away.

How has everyone been so far this week?? I hope it stays positive and if something is wrong it can only get better.

I can't believe how long its been since I last posted and wow how things have not changed lol I have been so busy and got caught up in so much i have just neglected this and also my wordpress blog and I am hoping/forcing myself to post more because i really do love the community and I have missed it alot.

So at the minute I am off work with laryngitis and its so painful i would not wish it on anyone I can't talk I am having to write everything or text people. 

I am currently reading A Court of Thorns and Roses and you should expect a review on that soon I have a new notepad at the ready to write my thoughts down.

I probs won't reach many people to start with or at all but i do hope on improving on that and that can especially be done whist I am off work unable to do anything. I think a new blog is needed so i will be doing a revamp and improvement on it so please bare with me I am still new at all of this 

Another amazing book I loved that the story was a simply about a girl who loved science and believed that everything that happens has a scientific reason behind it, along comes guy who wants to try and convince this girl that he can make her fall in love with her by the end of the day and that it has nothing to do with science but fate and the way that they feel. The girl has nothing better to do with her day and its a really fluffy read that does get a little deep but it wasn't too much for me to handle so I thought it was brilliant. I found myself really absorbed in the characters lives and i was hoping and praying that everything would work out.

Nichola Yoon writes this brilliant because there is the perspective of both he girl and the guy but there is also the perspective of the universe which is a great touch. Nicola Yoon approached the subject of different race and cultures brilliant and it was done softly she didn't say that oe was better than the other and because she was doing it from young people's eyes the problems where something that you could understand.

I will read ANYTHING that Nichola Yoon publishes I love her work !!!

My first review for 2017 is a book that I completed in 2016.

I bought this book on my birthday in December and I didn't read it straight away but as soon as the awful news of Carrie Fishers passing came to light I had to stop what I was reading and read this book.

I really loved this book she didn't shy away from telling people what happened in her life and also about her and Harrison Ford, which I didn't think was that big of a deal and I have no idea why people kept going on about. 

There was alot of lol moment and I found myself either smiling to myself or laughing to myself and that raised questions with my family, but

honestly it was just because of how witty and sassy women.

I think that if you are a Princess Leia only fan then its probably not for you because it is fans for Carrie Fisher however Princess Leia fans will probably like it because it is a lot to do with the time that she filming the momentous films. 

Now Im not going to lie this is a terrible review its short and doesn't go into much detail but I promise my next review will be much better. My system crashed out so I couldnt post until now so I guess thats also a reason for the terrible review.

The title of this post says it all tonight I have decided that 2017 is going to be totally awesome I have alot of plans they arent exactly New Year Resolutions I guess but I want to try and keep to them.

-These little things include posting more on here and WordPress(when it works).

- Read more which is a given haha my reading goal is 30.

- Now I know alot of people will have said this about losing weight and eating better but my reason is for my health because if i lose some weight and realise the pressure on my joints, my risk of getting MS is reduced and I am trying all I can to make sure that I am not diagnosed with it.

-I like my job and I have tried but I am coming up to a year there and honestly I have never wanted to put my whole heart into a job before and thats my plan put my whole heart in and work my way to better things and also more money I plan on working alot more hours.

HEY EVERYONE!!!!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and Santa brought you everything you asked for.

Now I have seen the post about the site getting the help it needs ect but i honestly haven't had any problems but I suppose its because I don't post often because Im not going to lie the site doesn't incise me because it runs so slow and I get really inpatient and end up closing it off and not blogging which isn't what I want to do I want to make this something that I can talk about books and be part of a community hopefully that will change. 

Now I was reading Replica by Lauren Oliver but when I heard about the death of Carrie Fisher (May she rest in peace) I had to read her book The princess Diarist which I got for my Birthday and I honestly have found it so good I have been at work since I heard about her death so I have had to read it in little chunks but I do plan on finishing it tonight because its so good.

This was a total love, hate kind of book for me it could be because I was reading it at a bad time in my life but I just felt that it dragged on a little it would speed up and I would be totally hooked for about 2 chapters and then it would slow down the last 3 chapters to me made the story because I just couldnt put it down I wanted to know what happened to Miss Peregine and the children. 

I did however kind of call the fact that Jacob would say he is going to leave but something would stop him from leaving I think its because I knew there was a third book.

I loved all the characters in the book the development in each character was amazing I loved how they all seemed to have come out their shell and had alot of personality they felt like real people to me and I was imagining each of them in my mind overtime one of them spoke I imagined how they stood hat they looked like. The detail that Ransom Riggs is fabulous and when I was reading it I really felt that I was in the world its like he sucked me into the world again and its like I never left especially when it was so long ago when I read the first one. 

whats everyones opinion on this ??

I have to say that reading this book has helped me love reading again so I am not to my next read and nearly finished it so its all good

I have been MIA for a week or two and honestly I want to apologise however being away from all this has been good for me simply because I has a lot going on with my health which you already know so I wont bore you with it.

Except that I am now on the mend and feeling alot better and plan on blogging at least twice a week simply with things like my top 5 books in genre and anything that people want to see. My review for Hollow City is also coming tomorrow and I can't wait to write it because I really did love the story.

Like everyone else also this month I can't wait for Christmas and also my birthday I am not getting as many books simply because I do want to read the books I have and that but I am not making any promises because I am a complete book nerd and will just carry on buying more and more.

Its getting very cold here in the UK and the north east I am sat here in my double quilt so the odds of me blogging is higher because I have not got much else to do.
