My name is Louise I love reading and buying books

Long time

Hi long time no blog !!!

I am still without a job which is totally getting me down now, I have barely read because I am slowly getting more and more depressed.

I am hoping to get into the groove of reading more soon cause I do have a massive to be read and with Christmas not far away a lot of new books that I do want.

But its a new month so I am going to try and be more positive and hopefully things will start looking up for me and my life.

I have a few things in the pipe line so I am going to put my entire all into it all and hopefully things will look up.

What's everyone been up to and did you all have a fabulous Halloween xx

Now this graphic novel purchase was bought based on the lovely front cover and the fact it was a hardback for £8. I shouldn't judge a book by its cover I know but I find that sometimes I do and a lot of the time its worked in my favour.

Now I am not going to really summarise the story because I find that I cant really without giving the story away too much. But I found the story to be relatable even though I am 22 when I was at school I felt a lot like Evie and feeling like an outsider.

The storyline was good but not the best I found it to be a bit obvious and I was able to assume the ending before it happened and I was right which totally sucked because I hate being able to predict an ending and then it not proving me wrong.

I know that other people wrote this and done the art for this book and credit where credit is due they done an amazing job and I noticed a lot of the reviews I read about this Joe Sugg was getting a bit of backlash because he didn't do everything now I just want to say that the story and the characters were his idea and the other people just helped him make the story and characters even more better than they already where in his head.

UPDATE

I have tried to upload my operation sin review but I cant seem to find the same edition as the one I read which had all the volumes together which is a total pain. I will add my own or something at some point.

I have been so busy with my new job which is totally complicated cause it is a job but it isn't cause I am not getting a wage for it its only commission but I am not getting that either cause the product I am selling isn't there yet if anyone knows what I mean.

being busy has meant I haven't really had time to read but tonight once I have finished posting some video's for work I am dedicating the rest to reading.

Harley Quinn : Volume 1 Hot In The City (New52)
Harley Quinn Vol. 1: Hot in the City (The New 52) - Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti

Authors: Lot of People lol

Pages: 224

Published: 28th October 2014

I adore Harley Quinn and I am so glad that she is getting the attention that she deserves I got this awhile ago but never felt in the mood for Harley but Friday night I was and I devoured it and loved every minute of the graphic novel and I was giggling so much.

I am again not going to give away the story but it basically follows Harley while she becomes a sole heir of a building on a famous boardwalk. and you follow her crazy antics that is totally Harley doing so much but still having time to chill out and eat.

The art work in this graphic novel is gorgeous and the fact at the beginning of each issue you got the full colour version then on the other side the black and white version which was a lovely touch. At the end of the graphic novel you got 13 variant covers which are all lovely and detailed and I laughed at a few of those and loved a lot of them the last 8 pages were of the original drawing before the colour etc. which I love seeing because its raw and un touched.

I recommend this to anyone that is a fan of course of Harley Quinn and anyone that wants to give her a chance but a little unsure I promise you wont be disappointed and will love Harley after reading this .

Prudence and The Crow Subscription Box

PRUDENCE AND THE CROW

Now I got this on the 16th September so this is late but I am still in love with it now. I am from the UK so book subscription boxes for a book worm are hard to get a hold of unless I pay a lot for postage but this box is £12 a month for one off or you can pay for 3,6,12 or a continuous subscription so a lot of choices and they are well worth it.

I got this because like I mentioned it is hard to get them in the UK and when I seen that one of the options was classic I was sold instantly because I want to grow my classic collection (the other options are science Fiction, classic thriller, children or random).

You can do this box for yourself and for a friend and you will not be disappointed the  book is a vintage book so it does have that vintage look but their not battered books and still in good condition. I loved the little goodies that came with the book and I loved the personalised feeling to the package which by the way can fit through your letter box so you don't have to wait in for it.

I have to give this 5 Stars and I have acutally gone on to subscribe for 3 months because in my opinion £12 for a book and some lovely goodies is well awesome and worth it .

Everything Everything Review
Everything, Everything - Nicola Yoon

Author: Nicola Yoon

Pages 310

Published: 1st September

This review has been a long time coming but a lot has been going on but I am finally getting back o track with my reading

This book is a heart-warming and powerful debut novel, and I loved every minute of the book and totally deserves the 5 star rating I have gave it. I am not going to spoil because it deserves to be read and loved people.

The book is centred around a young teenage girl who is allergic to EVERYTHING and one day she looks outside her window and see's a boy names Olly and the rest is an amazing and heart wrenching story.

Something that I think makes this book so good was the fact that the chapters were so short which meant I could get a quick chapter in when I was busy but had 5 minutes to spare, with the chapters being so short it meant that each one held a stronger meaning each time I finished the chapter, some of the chapters had pictures in like doodles and I thought that it added to the detail of the story because some authors wouldn't think of putting detail into something that might seem irrelevant and that can be shown via the descriptive writing.

I ADORED this book and it left me thinking about it so much once I had finished it and for a debut novel it was amazing and I can not wait to read more of Nicola Yoon writing.

Looking For Alaska Review
Looking for Alaska - John Green

Author: John Green

Pages:221

Published: March 2005

I don't have the cover on this review I have the newer one :-)

Wow this book in my opinion was AMAZING. I loved the storyline simply because it was so meaningful and it was a very delicate subject that I could relate too.

I love John Green's writing style and love the fact that he approaches subjects that some authors wont. I didn't feel much for Miles (Pudge) he annoyed me because he always made himself the centre of attention especially toward the end of the book. I loved Alaska Young she was so sassy, mysterious and rebellious, she was also a really loyal friend to both Miles and Chip (Colonel)

It was a little unrealistic with the idea of high school children drinking and smoking however the book isn't really angled to young children of the age of 12, maybe some young children have read it however I do believe that everyone knows that Fiction is fiction and that's all it is.

This book touched my heart a lot and honestly I needed time away to recover from it because it left a very heavy outlook on life when I finished it.

I do plan on reading the rest of John Green's books and things he has written because he is an amazing writer.

Quick update

A lot has been happening recently and its making my life very messy, my placement is good but its commission only which means if I don't sell I don't get any money so its meant a lot of hard work which I have done but I am no where closer to get anything.

As for reading progress I am nearly finished with Looking for Alaska and I have absolutely loved it and review will be up tonight or tomorrow morning.

I will be finishing my NetGalley Arc I have been sent I have three all together however I bought 4 new books the other day one of them was everything everything and I really want to read that :-)

I actually read this on Thursday night when I bought it and I couldn't put it down I went to put a review up Friday morning but booklikes crashed on me after I wrote the entire thing ARGGGHHH

This graphic novel had a lot of hype around it on booktube and on goodreads and it deserved all the hype it was an amazing graphic novel especially seen as I haven't read any other graphic novels other than DC and Marvel. I would say this book if rated would be mature because there is some strong language and some mature art and it all started as soon as you open the book which didn't bother me at all

The art in this graphic is amazing and stunning and something I did love was when the baby would speak it wasn't in speech bubbles or thought bubbles it was handwritten within the art frame because the baby is talking in advance like she is looking back and she sounds so wise and I love that concept.

I can not wait to get the 4 volumes of this series and I would recommend this to anybody who wants to branch out past marvel and DC.

Book Treat
Saga, Volume 1 - Brian K. Vaughan, Fiona Staples Harley Quinn Vol. 1: Hot in the City (The New 52) - Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti Operation: S.I.N.: Agent Carter - Marvel Comics

Well today I decided to treat myself because I had some left over money that I forgot I had :-).

I got three graphic novel

 Saga Volume One:

I got this in HMV for £7.50 so I couldn't turn it away and plus I heard nothing but great things about this on goodreads and YouTube. So I cant wait to dive into this tonight and I hope I love it as much as everyone else.

Harley Quinn, New 52 Volume One

I LOVE Harley Quinn so when I saw this in Forbidden Planet for £13 I couldn't turn it away and I cant wait to read this and I love that I'm slowly building my Harley collection and I cant wait for Volume 2 to be available in paperback because we only have it in hardback at the moment and I don't like comics that are in hardback :-(.

Operation S.I.N-Agent Carter

Now I got this comic because I loved the Agent Carter series that was on T.V and I know the odds of it following or being relevant is slim but honestly I don't mind because I like to see different versions of things that I like and I don't know anything about this volume and honestly I want to go in blind cause I think its the best way sometimes. Also I didn't get the cover that shows on this I got a different one a little disappointed but never mind

Shattered Blue - Lauren Bird Horowitz

ITS FINALLY HERE, I want say thank you too skyscrape and 2 lions for allowing me to read this.

First I just want to say that this is my opinion and if you love this book then that's great I did like it but it wasn't my favourite so don't hate on me because I am being truthful and giving my opinion.

I felt that the story had a lot of detail and I suppose that is a great thing for a first book in a series but for me it was too slow and honestly nothing really got me gripped until about 80% into the book, which after that I couldn't put it down and had to know what happened to the characters at the end of the book. Now I think that the series is going to be a strong series and I do want to read book 2 when that is available.

Now while reading it even though nothing dramatic did happen I did find myself wanting to get to the end to see what happened at the end which I suppose is a good thing cause it kept me wanting to read it.

I loved the characters especially Sasha I think she is suck a bubbly character and so innocent and doesn't know what happening to her older sister Noa, now the name Noa I thought was so unique however I didn't really like her character simply because she seemed to get attached really easy to people, I did love how risk free she was though. I loved the brother dynamic I thought it was very well detailed and I wasn't confused at any point because things where explain so thoroughly which is why I think the writing style was so good because Lauren didn't miss anything out when explain the back story of people.

Hard Times

Hi everyone,

Wow I have had a crappy few days today I lost my job and got made redundant which totally sucks so now Im looking like crazy for a job because I hate not having anything to do. My health hasn't been 100% either I have been suffering rather badly with an infection in my foot and a sprain in my left wrist which means not much reading has been done. So now all I keep thinking is how am I going to afford to pay for things now :(

With my free time when not looking for like crazy for a job I am hoping to read more and also play on my PS4 more. I'm hoping that I don't get all depressed like I did before I got a job. I think I will be reading a lot of blogs on here to keep me occupied which sounds totally sad lol :).

But enough about me how has everyone else been lately cause I haven't been on here in awhile :-) xx

About Me

Hi everyone really quick update I've added an about me page on my blog simply because I think people should know who I am and what I'm interested in I babble a little a bit but that just me. But to not make this such a short blog I thought I would add a little on here too but I promise I wont repeat

Now I am new to the whole blog and review book world which people can probably tell in my blog posts and you will probably all think I wish she would stop babbling on so if anyone has any tips for me I would be really grateful for the tips and advice from anyone.

I hate living in the UK because I feel that with where I live mainly that there isn't much out there for book lovers we have WHSmith and Waterstones and we have the library now I could just be blind to these events so if anyone does know any that happen in the UK give me a shout and I will look into them and see if they are close to me :-)

p.s I don't know why I put I'm feeling pirate lol I just really liked the little emotion :-)

Reading Update

Reading Progress

I thought a little update was in need cause I've had so much going on with working so much and not having time to myself to read or write something on here which I am going to change.

For about 1 week I have been over half way through SHATTERED BLUE which I got from NetGalley and I am really appreciate the book however I cant seem to finish it is not engaging me at the moment and I am finding that I can put it down really easy and not bother going back to it for days I will get through it I wont give up and hopefully it does pick up.

I have 2 other Netgalley books to read but honestly I wanted to read one of my physical books so I have picked LOOKING FOR ALASKA, I loved the fault in our stars I thought John Green's writing was fab and I know a lot of people loved it and recommend to read it so I am hoping that it lives up to the hype which I think it will because its flippin john green

First AudioBook
Yes!: My Improbable Journey to the Main Event of WrestleMania - Daniel Bryan, Craig Tello

Now this was my first audiobook and I enjoyed the book but I don't think audiobook is something I will use again.

I didn't really know what to expect from this book simply because the WWE network had already done a 30 minutes documentary about Daniel Bryan and his week before wrestlemania so I was hoping that it wasn't going to be a repeat from screen to book.I was a fan of Daniel Bryan before this book but I didn't know the history of his journey to WWE or his time in ring of honour all I did know was that he was a ring of honour original.

Through out the book Daniel was very modest and didn't brag about the accomplishments that he made he also wouldn't expect sympathy for the hard times that he went through especially when he spoke about the several injuries he had gotten before going to WWE, like I said Bryan was a ROH original and that is what makes him who he is today and the attitude that he carries today because he is at WWE to wrestle because he loves wrestling so much.

I laughed out loud a few times while listening to Bryan speak about things that he had done and that doesn't happen much with me I tend to keep it in but listening to him speak was funny, even when he swore it was funny because he doesn't seem to swear often but when he did the story behind it deserved the odd swear word because it was OMG moments.

The reason I gave it 4* was because even thought I loved Bryans part in the book I didn't enjoy the parts when Craig Tello spoke, when he referred to Daniel Bryan as the Yes Man that annoyed me to no end.

I would recommend this to anyone who like me is a fan of Daniel Bryan but doesn't know much about him and wants to learn more, I respect all WWE stars for what they do but after listening to Bryan book the respect has gone up massively.
